Reading Mind.

One day, I was walking down the street, going home. When I got home, I found out that I had a special ability. It was the ability to read other people's minds or thinking. I could hear girls thinking about losing weight, men thinking about money, or even some dogs thinking about their bones. When there are many people, it was noisy because all the thinking was all mixed up in a big noise.

I felt a little bit dizzy and confused, too, hearing loud noises. At first, I was really surprised, so I tried to keep this for secret. However, I could not really keep this for secret because my best friend named Amy discocvered my ability. She was even trying to persuade me to participate on a tv show like 'Surprise'!
I didn't want to do that, so I pretended that I didn't have the special ability anymore. But, I told my parents, and I'm trying to find out the reason why I have this ability. First, I tried to do the same thing I did in the day I got the ability. I walked down the street again, and nothing changed. This wasn't a good way. Then, I tried to find other people who arew similar to me and ask them. I found some websites like 'Mind readers' or 'Super Abilities' , but they were just fake, and made for fun. I also asked parents if THEY had this kinds of special powers. I could knoiw directly whey\ther they had or not, reading their mind. They never had that kind of ability.
So I can't still find out why I had that kind of abil;ity. I'm still curious, but it doesn't matter now. At August 16th, which was exactly 1 year after the day I got ability, it disappeared! When I woke up in the morning, I couldn't read people's mind. This was my weird story. Thanks for reading!

History presentation-Propaganda

INTRO - Hi~I'm Lily, as you know. Today I'm here to share my history presentation with you. I hope you like it!

Have you ever heard about the 'Propaganda'? Well, it isn't a quite familiar topic, right? Today, I am going to present about the historical propaganda. I will tell you about the definition of propaganda, history of it, and propaganda today.

To begin with, what is the propaganda? According to the Oxford dictionaries, propaganda is an information, especially of a biased, or misleading mature, used to promote a political cause or point of view. In my dictionary, it is often inaccurate information used to influence people. In short words, I think propaganda is an information given to people to persuade them. This usually emphasises only the advantages or disadvantages of an idea or something. People use posters, media and some slogans for propaganda. For instance, slogans such as 'Death before slavery', 'Liberty, equality, fraternity', or 'They shall not pass'  are used in revolutions and wars, according to Teary Deary.

Next, I will tell you about the history of propaganda briefly. People started to make it in ancient time. The term 'propaganda' is made in 1622. It was still used in modern times, and even today, 21st century.

Third, I will talk about its usages. It was usually used in war times. For example, there were propagandas used in world war 1. They were used to persuade people to join the army and fight the enemy in the battlefield. Nazi, a famous dictator also used some propagandas at 1933~1945.

Propaganda was made, and influencing people's life from an ancient time to today. At ancient time, when propaganda was first made and used, some nobles and wealthy people used propagandas to show their power and Honor to the citizens. According to an encyclopedia and a history website, ancient Greeks could be the first people to think of propaganda. That was the start of history of propaganda. Propagandas are also used by a king and a queen of Spain, in 1588. There were some modern propagandas, too. They were used to encourage people to do something like revolting.

This picture, saying 'I want you' is an example of propaganda. It was made by James Montgomery. It is a poster used in World War 1 and World War 2. It was made to persuade people to join U.S army. The citizen's side can also make a propaganda. They could persuade other citizens to protest the government's side.

Lastly, I will talk about the propaganda today. Propagandas are still used and made today. For instance, there is a propaganda poster advertising about the middle east conflict, made by USA. This would be an example of propaganda informing about global issues. Plus, there could be some religious propagandas, too.

Well, do you think propagandas are useful and good for all the people? Or do you think is is just to biased, useless, and bad? I think it sometimes are helpful, but sometimes doesn't. To conclude, I told you about the propaganda . I hope you enjoyed it and thanks a lot for reading this!

My speech~

    INTRO.
Hi~ I'm Lily. Today I am here to post my speech! I want to share it with you, and I hope you enjoy!

Can you guess what this object is? This has so many functions. Today, a lot of people have this. Final hint;Apple and Samsung are competing for this. Guess what this is? Well, this is so smart that people are calling this 'Smart phones'. Hello, everyone. My name is Lily. today, I am going to tell you about the functions, advantages and disadvantages of smart phones. Please, don't doze or sleep and listen carefully!

To begin with, I will tell you about the functions of smart phones. Smart phones are like Yuna Kim! Yuna sings well, skates well, and she is pretty! Similar to her, we can do so many jobs with smart phones. We can use it as a flashlight, a MP3 player, or a camera! We can also download the applications, and use them! Maybe you would ask this ; 'What is the difference between normal phone and smart phone?' Well, we can't download applications or programs with normal phones. For example, I can't download games and even can't delete them with my normal phone. So, it is quite different. in conclusion, smart phones have various usages.

Next, I will talk about some advantages of smart phones. Smart phones have a lot of advantages. First off, you can communicate well with other people if you have a smart phone. for instance, you can send text messages and call for free if you download the application called 'Kakaotalk'. Also, you can share your stories if you download the apps such as Kakaostory.  In addition, smart phones can blow off your stress. you would feel happy and excited when you do your favorite things, right?  And, a lot of people's favorite thing is to play with their smart phones. So, it can blow off their stress. Lastly, smart phones make you safe. Today, a lot of parents buy their children smart phones. you can call directly to 119 of police station even if you don't get your passwords right with your smart phones. So, it makes you feel safer. Therefore, there are many advantages of smart phones and I have told you some.

On the other hand, smart phones have some disadvantages, too. To start with, the addiction problem is serious. According to the business world, more than 10 percents of teenage students have possibility of getting addicted to smart phones. If they start to play exciting games, they would want to play more and would not want to stop, which leads them to be addicted to smart phones. Smart phones also make health problems. Your eyes would get blurred, your eyesight would fail, and you would get many other diseases like turtle neck,or  popcorn brain. You would get mental health problems, too. If you play violent games or inappropriate games, you would feel bad and get shocked. Finally, it gives negative effect to your communication. Now you would say this: 'Hey!! YOU told me that smart phones help my communication. And now you say it makes my communication worse??' Well, they sometimes do help you, but usually not. Think of a room where some students are in. they are all with smart phones in their hands. now, what would they do if they are together in the room? Well, probably they would just play with the smart phones. Why would they try to talk and communicate with other students? They have SMART phones. which are more fun and interesting! Or think of a subway, or subway station. almost everyone is playing with their smart phones! now, can you understand my opinion? Smart phones are NOT good for your communication.

In conclusion, I have told you about the functions, advantages and disadvantages of smart phones. It is your choice to use or not use smart phones. However, despite some advantages, I recommend you to not use it. If you want to communicate well and if you care for your health, NEVER use smart phones. Turn back to offline, the better analog life.

Ode to my blog!

         Dear my blog,

You are small now but you are getting bigger.
You are like a small sofa where I can rest a bit.
You are comfortable and nice.
I feel excited with you. I feel happy with you. I feel like I am in my own home with you.
I feel sad when something is wrong with you.
You are growing every week. You are becoming prettier. I am becoming more familiar with you, too.
A place that is free. A place where I enjoy a lot. A place which is one of my friends.
I try to make you look better. I try to make you well-known. I always hope you will be a good one like Adora Svitak's one (adorasv.blogspot.com). How cheerful you are. How warm you are.  How amusing and satisfying you are.
I like writing class, a time I can meet you. I like writing class, a time when I can prepare and learn the things for you. I really liked the first writing class in here, GLPS, a time when I first meet with you.

'Spring':Reflective Essay

Have you ever watched a video named 'Spring'? Or have you ever heard of it? It is by Kim Ki Duck. Today, I will tell you a story of it. It is about a monk, trying to teach a lesson to boy. The boy harasses three animals by tying them, so they couldn't move. A monk saw him and did the same thing to him, making him to free the animals. Sadly, two of them were already dead, and the boy cries, feeling sorry. What is the lesson that the monk tried to tell to the boy? It would be about responsibility and consequences of action! I will tell you about the lesson the story gives, and my experience about it. Read carefully please.
First of all, I will tell you how it relates to our life. Well, you probably have an experience of being sad because of other people saying things without thinking, right? Or you might have felt bad, watching some people killing animals, not thinking about the consequence, haven't you? These situations are related to the video, 'Spring'. Like the boy in the video, many people made some mistakes, because they didn't think about the effect of their acts. Many people would have felt angry because of other people, who aren't responsible for their actions or what they have said. Likewise, the movie is related with our life closely.
Now, I will tell you the thing I have experienced. First, I have felt sorry once, when someone got hurt because of me. For instance, my friends and parents felt bad because of me, so I felt sad, and learned a lesson- Actions I do and words I say without thinking hardly, could hurt other people's feelings a lot. So, I have to think about the effect my actions would give before say or do something. My next example is when I caught a dragonfly.
썸네일
I was young when I experienced the event. I was playing and I caught a small dragonfly. It was so weak that it died suddenly in my hand, and its torn, I felt so surprised that I left it on the ground and ran away, crying. I would never forget the event! I felt so sorry to the dragonfly. I shouldn't have caught the tiny, weak dragonfly. I prayed to the dead dragonfly. I still feel bad that I caught it, didn't think about the consequence. These were my personal examples about the relation to the movie 'Spring' .
Well, you would now have understood the lesson the 'Spring' gives, right? It teaches us that we must think before you do or say something. This is because you would feel guilt, and some people would get hurted because of you. There's a proverb says 'You can't pick up and put in the words back that you have spoken.' Actions are the same. We cannot return to the time before you did something bad and regretful. In conclusion, I told you about the 'Spring', its relation to my life, and the lesson it teaches to us. Always think before you do somethings. I hope you enjoyed and thanks a lot for reading this.

Joseph Kony 2012!

Joseph Kony, the name of a cruel man, who kidnaps a lot of children and does bad things. A name which became an issue. Have you ever heard of that name? If you haven't, I will tell you about him. Joseph Rao Kony is a leader of LRA. He makes innocent children as sex slaves or soldiers. He even forces them to kill their own parents!

Isn't he so bad? He does bad jobs just for his benefits. Fortunately, a group of people:The Invisible Children, is trying to stop him and catch him. The name of the project is Kony 2012. They are working hard to make Joseph Kony famous, so they could arrest him. It certainly is a good way, isn't it?

I am going to tell you why the 'Kony 2012' is an effective, good way to catch Joseph Kony. There are three reasons why it is good: It would be easier to catch him, it is right to let people know his cruelty, Kony 2012 has a huge chance of success, considering that previous contempts similar to Kony 2012 suceed. Of two rebuttals to the arguments of the opposition, the first is that there aren't any better ways, and making him as an infamous person is OK. Please, read carefully.
To begin with, it would be much easier to find him if we make him popular. 'Many' are better than 'one'. Humans grow stronger if they collaborate, and this is scientifically proven. If we all notice that Kony is a bad person and help the people who are trying to catch him, it would be easier to arrest Kony. It wouldn't take a lot of time! If no one knows Joseph Kony, we might fail to catch him even though he is right in front of us. But if we know him and his crimes, we could catch him! Therefore, it is important to make Joseph Kony famous if we want to catch him quickly.
In addition, it is right to make him popular. How would the victims of Kony feel if no one knows their suffering and only few people are trying to help them. They would feel much better if a lot of people understand them. They would feel safer, would also feel a little happier when other people become angry at Kony and try to protect them. Making him popular and being in the victim's side will be a big help to the invisible children, a group who is trying to help kidnapped children and victims of Kony.
Lastly, there are some examples that have shown the success by using the same way of Kony 2012 . For instance, (This wouldn't be a good example, but..) the group 'Invisible Children' has already tried to make Kony famous(a little bit). It gathered people, and finally made the president Obama send army to the Uganda! So I think this would be a very successful plan! Therefore, I think making him popular is an effective way.
Even though this is a nice way, some people disagree. So now, I will oppose the people who think the opposite. They would claim this: Making a criminal like Joseph Kony as a famous person in the world isn't a good idea. They would think that bad people becoming famous is a weird thing, and good people should be famous instead. On the other hand, I think it is a nice way if we make him famous as bad way. For example, the 'Invisible children ' are making a poster saying thing such as this 'Joseph Kony is the worst person ever lived in the Earth'! This would give a great impression and would interest people. It would help kidnapped Uganda children.
Plus, there aren't any better ways. The opposite side would say that there are many other ways such as just finding him without making his popular! Yes, that is one way. But will it be more effective than the way making him famous? Would many people donate money for 'Invisible Children' if Joseph Kony is not famous? I said in the second paragraph, that it would be easier if Kony becomes famous. Also the victims would feel worried and scared if only few people are helping them. More helps would make them safer!
In conclusion, the way of making Kony as famous is an effective and good way because it makes it easier to catch him, it is a right way, and it has a lot of possibility of success. Also, I rebutted the opposing side's opinion, by claiming that there aren't any better ways and it is okay to make him infamous. Everyone knows. WE MUST SAVE poor Uganda children. Let's try to help the 'Invisible children' . Let's tell the people about all the bad things that he has done to the children. ONLY WE can stop Joseph Kony.
